The Treasury Museum Chiang Mai has been awarded a 5-star certification under the STAR: Sustainable Tourism Acceleration Rating — also known as the “Star of Sustainability” — by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). This certification reflects the museum’s commitment to national standards for sustainable tourism development.
The STAR program, initiated by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, aims to drive the tourism sector toward achieving the Sustainable Tourism Goals (STGs) in alignment with Thailand's unique tourism context. The STGs consist of 17 goals across four key dimensions: governance, socio-economic, cultural, and environmental. The program encourages collaboration throughout the tourism industry value chain to enhance the image of Thai tourism as meaningful, responsible, and sustainable, ultimately positioning Thailand as a Sustainable Destination on the global stage.
As a historical tourism site, the Treasury Museum Chiang Mai is proud to play a part in elevating Thai tourism by promoting heritage conservation, cultural appreciation, community engagement, and environmental awareness. The museum remains committed to providing visitors with valuable, safe, and enriching experiences, as it continues to support the path toward truly sustainable tourism development.
